What Are Glitter DTF Transfers?

Glitter DTF (Direct-to-Film) transfers are heat-applied garment prints with a sparkling glitter overlay across the entire design. Printed at 1440 DPI with water-based inks and hot-melt adhesive powder, these transfers deliver the same soft hand-feel and durability as regular DTF but with added shimmer. The glitter effect works best on lighter colored designs where the sparkle is most visible, making them ideal for team uniforms, event apparel, and fashion brands.

The key difference from regular DTF is the peel method. Glitter DTF requires cold peel: press at 300-320°F for 10-15 seconds, then let cool completely before peeling the film. Regular DTF uses instant/hot peel. Both work on cotton, polyester, blends, and performance fabrics with 50+ wash durability. Glitter DTF arrives on gang sheets that you cut apart yourself.

Frequently Asked Questions

Add on optional description to this section

Glitter DTF has a sparkling glitter overlay across the entire design, while regular DTF has a matte finish. Glitter DTF requires cold peel (wait until completely cool before removing film), whereas regular DTF uses instant/hot peel.

Both have the same durability, wash resistance, and soft hand-feel. You can mix both on the same garment by applying them separately (regular DTF first with hot peel, then Glitter DTF with cold peel).

Lighter colors show the glitter effect most prominently. White, pastels, light gray, and bright colors display the sparkle best. Darker colors like navy, black, or dark red still have glitter but the shimmer is less visible. Consider using lighter design elements if maximum glitter visibility is important.

Pre-press your garment to remove moisture and wrinkles. Place transfer on fabric with image facing up and cover with Teflon sheet. Press at 300-320°F for 10-15 seconds with medium-firm pressure. This is the critical step: let the transfer cool completely before peeling(unlike regular DTF which uses hot peel).

Once fully cooled, peel the film slowly from a corner, pulling sideways not upward. Optional: re-press with protective sheet for 5-10 seconds to seal.

Yes, but apply them separately since they use different peel methods. Apply regular DTF first with instant peel, then apply Glitter DTF and let it cool completely before peeling. Both transfers will have the same wash durability and can be on the same garment without issues.
